I’m so excited to get to know you better! And so you can get to know me a little bit, I’ll introduce myself!
My husband and I have been married since 2014 and we have three wonderful kids, two boys and a little girl. We currently live on the southwest side of the Salt Lake Valley.
I grew up in the Salt Lake valley but have also lived in Houston, TX, Orlando, FL, and various Caribbean Islands. During my travels I discovered that tropical weather is by far my favorite, especially when it storms! My favorite colors are pink, purple and teal. I think the ideal vacation would be to go to Walt Disney World for 5 days and then head off on a 5 day Caribbean cruise. Also, I collect Disney pins and Figment merchandise. If you don’t know who Figment is, just ask me and I’ll be happy to share!
I’ve had a variety of pregnancy and childbirth experiences that have led me to where I am today. I’ve given birth at both the hospital and at a birth center. I've labored at home and labored at the hospital. I've had gestational diabetes, placenta previa, a breech baby and postpartum depression/anxiety. I've been induced. I've had an emergency cesarean. I've had an empowering VBAC. I've had an epidural and I've given birth unmedicated. I've had different size babies too, ranging from 6lbs all the way to 10lbs (the 10 pounder was my VBAC!) I have also studied different Hypnobirthing techniques with all of my babies and found that Gentlebirth was the most effective tool in preparing me for my positive experience.
Through all of these experiences, I was reawakened to my love for all things birth. (When I was a young child, my dream job was “a baby doctor” or neonatologist) As I grew up, things shifted a few different times and I got my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education - Family & Consumer Sciences. Since then, I have certified as a Birth Doula and a Childbirth Educator, received advanced VBAC doula training, begun training as a Holistic Perinatal Wellness Specialist and plan to go back to school to become a Midwife in the near future.
